ATPase inhibitor
Mycotoxin. Cell permeable. Induces the release of intracellular stored Ca2+ without increasing IP3 levels via inhibition of endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+-ATPase. Highly specific inhibitor of Ca2+-ATPase of sarcoplasmic reticulum, completely inhibiting the enzyme at 6-8 nmol/mg protein (at 0.5-2.0µM ATP).
