Zinc dye

Zinquin free acid is a lipophilic, zinc-sensitive, fluorescent dye. It is selective for Zn (II) in the presence of physiological concentrations of Ca (II) and Mg (II) ions. Fluorescence of Zinquin free acid is enhanced upon binding Zn (II), but the probe does not demonstrate a shift or change in emission wavelength. The probe is UV-excitable and emits in the blue region of the spectrum. Wavelength Maxima: Excitation 368nm, Emission 490nm
