A chlorinated tamoxifen analogue. It competes with estradiol for estrogen receptors and has growth inhibitory effects on MCF-7 breast cancer cells [1]. It causes growth inhibition of estrogen-sensitive breast cancer cells by inducing some cells to undergo apoptosis and by inhibiting other cells from entering mitosis [2].
