Some TNF ligands (such as TWEAK (mouse) or FasL (mouse)) produced as soluble forms do not assemble into stable trimers and show low receptor binding. Addition of the tenascin-C oligomerization domain (TNC) (from chicken) at the N-terminus of recombinant mouse soluble TWEAK stabilizes the TNF homology domain (THD) of rmsTWEAK into a trimer and increases binding to its respective TNF receptor. Note: For some TNF ligands, such as FasL (mouse), activated by further oligomerization (> hexamer), the presence of TNC is not sufficient and ligand crosslinking using the “Enhancer for Ligands” (Prod. No. ALX-804-034) is required.
