Adenylate cyclase inhibitor

SQ 22536 is a cell-permeable adenylate cyclase inhibitor. It inhibits cAMP production induced by prostaglandin E₁ in platelet lysates (IC₅₀=82 µM) and in intact platelets (IC₅₀=1 µM). It has been successfully employed as a probe for the involvement of adenylate cyclase in a variety of receptor systems including those for prostaglandins and neurotransmitters. ReducesPGE₂-induced inhibition of O₂– production.
