RARα (h) Reporter Assay System

This nuclear receptor assay system utilizes proprietary non-human mammalian cells engineered to provide constitutive, high-level expression of Human Retinoic Acid Receptor, alpha (NR1B3), a ligand-dependent transcription factor commonly referred to as RARa or RARa. Because these cells incorporate a responsive luciferase reporter gene, quantifying expressed luciferase activity provides a sensitive surrogate measure of RARa activity in the treated cells. The principle application of this reporter assay system is in the screening of test samples to quantify any functional activity, either agonist or antagonist, that they may exert against human RARβ.
