The hybridoma secreting the antibody to subunit β2 was generated by fusion of splenocytes from Balb/c mice which had received repeated immunization with dinitrophenylated proteasomes. The antibody (clone MCP165) has been characterised by one- and two dimensional Western blotting. The antibody has not been demonstrated to immunoprecipitate the native 20S proteasome. The immunoglobulin subclass is IgG1.
