Necrostatin-5

Necroptosis inhibitor. In contrary to the mechanism of necrostatin-1 (Prod.No. BML-AP309) it was shown that necrostatin-5 inhibits RIP1 kinase indirectly. A potent inhibitor of immunoprecipitated, but not recombinant RIP1.

The necrostatins inhibit non-apoptotic cell death pathway by inhibition of the death domain receptor-associated adaptor kinase RIP1. There are three different mechanisms: T-loop dependent inhibition by necrostatin-1, partially T-loop independent inhibition by necrostatin-3 and indirect inhibition of RIP1 by necrostatin-5.
