Matriptase-2 (TMPRSS6) is a type II transmembrane serine protease mainly produced by the liver. It acts as a potent negative regulator of hepcidin, a hepatic peptide hormone and integral player in regulating iron homeostasis.

Specific Activity	One U = 10 pmol/min, using Boc-Gln-Ala-Arg-AMC (50µM, Prod. No. BML-P237) as substrate at 37°C.
