m2,2,7G/TMG

m^2,2,7G is an analogue of guanosine in which the amino hydrogens in position 2 and in position 7 of the nucleobase are replaced by methyl groups. m^2,2,7G can be found in the cap structures at the 5′ ends of snRNAs and, far less often, of mRNAs. It can be used as a reference for analysis of methylated snRNAs or mRNAs.
