Inositol

Is an essentially non toxic compound largely formed by the dephosphorylation of inositol hexaphosphate (IP6, Phytate) within the gastrointestinal tract in humans and animals [1]. It reduces chemically induced lung tumor formation in experimental animals when administered after carcinogen treatment [2]. It also suppresses liver carcinogenesis in male C3H/He mice [3].
