A synthetic glucocorticoid with anti-inflammatory and anti-carcinogenesis properties. It inhibits tumor promotion in mouse skin when applied with a promoting agent at the early stages of promotion [1]. It was also found to inhibit induction of early growth response-1 (Egr-1) gene in SENECAR mice [2] and phospholipid peroxidation in CD1 mice [3] which were exposed to 12-O-tetradecanoyl phorbol-13-acetate (TPA) treatment.
