The anti-DCX antibody is designed for the detection of doublecortin (DCX), a microtubule-associated protein essential for neuronal migration and cortical development.

DCX (doublecortin) is a microtubule-associated protein critical for neuronal migration and cortical development. It is highly expressed in immature neurons during early brain development, where it facilitates cytoskeletal remodeling essential for neuronal dispersion and cortex lamination. DCX is widely used as a marker of neurogenesis and has been implicated in disorders such as lissencephaly X-linked type 1 and subcortical band heterotopia, which result from defects in neuronal migration. Its expression is largely restricted to the developing brain, making it a valuable target for studies of neurodevelopment and related pathologies.
