Cytarabine

Cytarabine (Cytosine beta-D-arabinofuranoside) is an antimetabolite compound which is proven to be one of the most effective agents available to treat leukemia [1]. It induces its cytotoxic effect by inactiating DNA polymerases alpha, delta, and epsilon and consequently inhibit semi-conservative DNA replication and repair [2]. It also has a potential to inhibit chemically induced carcinogenesis.
