Analogue of 2′-deoxyadenosine-5′-triphosphate with only moderate intrinsic fluorescence (λexc 347 nm, λem ~431 nm). The fluorophore is supposed to have a certain sensitivity for its environment and can change its spectral properties upon binding. Useful for research into dATP-dependent receptor proteins. Potential inhibitor of various adenylyl cyclase isoforms and soluble guanylyl cyclase (sGC).
