BCTC is a potent and selective inhibitor of capsaicin-induced (IC₅₀=35 nM) and acid-induced (IC₅₀=6 nM) VR₁ activation. It displays analgesic activity in rat models of inflammatory and neuropathic pain. TRPV1 antagonist.
