Retinoic acid receptor ligand

Adapalene is a stable analog of retinoic acid and acts selectively as an agonist at RARβ and RARγ. It inhibits proliferation and induces apoptosis in colorectal cancer cells. Its unique pharmacological properties make it superior to other retinoids for the treatment of acne.
