Potent membrane permeant activator of cGMP-dependent protein kinase type I α and I β. In contrast to common stimulators such as 8-Br-cGMP or 8-pCPT-cGMP which mainly activate kinase subtype I α, 8-Br-PET-cGMP is one of the best activators of isozyme I β and one of the best cyclic nucleotide muscle relaxants. BIOLOG also offers the corresponding PDE-stable structure Rp-8-Br-PET-cGMPS (Prod. No. BLG-P007) and Sp-8-Br-PET-cGMPS (Prod. No. BLG-P008).
