2’/3′-O-Ac-ADPR is an analogue of ADPR, that is generated from NAD+ by sirtuin-mediated protein deacetylation. 2’/3′-O-Ac-ADPR is a putative intracellular second messenger and has been reported to play a role in starfish oocyte maturation, to bind to a number of intracellular proteins, including heterochromatic proteins linked to X-chromosome inactivation and to activate the TRPM2 ion channel.
