β-NAADP+ is a potent stimulator of intracellular Ca2+ mobilization in a variety of cell types, with its mechanism of action being distinct from those of cyclic adenosine diphosphate ribose (cADPR, Prod. No. BLG-C005) and inositol-1,4,5-triphosphate (IP3). The function of β-NAADP was first demonstrated in sea urchin egg homogenates.
