If an epifluorescence microscope is used for visualization, the incorporated dUTPs should be matched to the filters equipped in the microscope. Yellow/Orange filters are fairly uncommon and therefore the fluorophores with spectra in these wavelengths might not be suitable. Additionally, inexpensive or older red filter sets have a relative broad pass-through wavelength bandwidth and do show a gradual cutoff, rather than a sharp discrimination between wavelengths, which can result in bleed-through from signals that are not dissimilar enough. To take full advantage of all colors offered in our dUTP range, we recommend confocal fluorescence microscopy for detection.
