Some red alkaline phosphatase chromogens are unstable upon mixing. This can be problematic where an automated slide strainer is used. The product HIGHDEF® red IHC chromogen (AP, plus) (ADI-950-141) has been formulated for use with an autostainer (but it can also be used for manual use). It is more stable and it also produces a different red color than ADI-950-140 (regular HIGHDEF® red), ranging from pink to brilliant dark red.
