Reducing agents (such as ascorbic acid, beta-mercaptoethanol, dithiothreitol, and cysteine) and thiol reactive compounds (such as maleimides) are known to interfere with the glutathione detection assay. Therefore, reducing agents and thiol reactive compounds should be avoided during sample preparation.
