The Calcineurin Phosphatase assay kit, BML-AK804, contains ½ volume microplate. What is the advantage of using this type of plate instead of a standard 96 well plate?

We use 1/2 volume plates for the Calcineurin Phosphatase assay kit (BML-AK804) because a longer path length improves accuracy for OD readings and increases signal. Furthermore, 1/2 volume plates allow reduced working volumes thus saving the amount of reagents used per assay.
