The Absorbance 96 plate reader can be disinfected by wiping it down with a variety of disinfectants (e.g. 70% Ethanol, Virkon, etc.). Fumigation-sterilization, e.g. with formaldehyde is also possible. Sterilization by UV should be used with caution, as some exposed plastic parts (cable, bottom plate, rubber feet, etc.) might show accelerated ageing due to UV exposure.
