The plate provided in these kits is coated with a generic antibody capable of capturing the cAMP- or cGMP-specific antibody. The antibody used in these kits is a goat anti-rabbit IgG antibody, which means that rabbit samples containing high endogenous levels of IgG may be problematic and cause interference in the cAMP/cGMP assay by disrupting the balance of sample, conjugate and antibody required for obtaining satisfactory results in a competitive assay. If you must test these samples, we recommend removal of interfering antibodies using either a MWCO filter or an IgG removal kit prior to running the assay. Please note, however, that we have not tested either of these methods and we cannot offer specific recommendations or protocols for these procedures.
